CURRENT TROMBOPHILIA RESEARCH INDICATIONS
Introduction: Thrombophilia is defined as the tendency to thrombosis due to inherited or acquired coagulation or fibrinolysis changes, which leads to a prothrombotic state. Results: Through a systematic review analyze the current indications in thrombophilia research avoiding an excessive screening in non-indicated patients. Development: by reviewing the articles, is sought to complement current indications of thrombophilia research aiming at early diagnosis and aiding in the appropriate treatment for each mechanism of the disease. Discussion: compare the reviewed articles regarding the purpose of screening for thrombophilia, avoiding excessive or inappropriate screening as it may be more harmful than beneficial for the patient. Conclusion: to emphasize the relevance of screening for the acquisition and interaction between the various risk factors for thrombophilia, which is a field of great relevance. The detailed diagnostic approach of the cases is necessary to provide a definition of an individualized diagnostic criterial. Keywords: pregnancy; heredity; hypercoagulability; thrombophilia; TVP.
