The Meeting welcomes full papers addressing topics in Family and Gender Economics, including, but not limited to:
Household models;
Marriage and divorce;
Household decisions (time allocation, human capital, labor supply, consumption, savings, health, fertility, parenting, etc.);
Labor market and gender;
Domestic violence;
Gender gaps;
Income;
Gender and race inequalities;
Demographic economics;
Women-led firms;
Female entrepreneurship;
Care economy;
Gender roles and social norms;
Among others.
Submissions must be written in English.
All sessions will be held in person. Presentations may be delivered in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, with English strongly encouraged.
The Mentoring Session is designed exclusively for undergraduate and graduate students and aims to promote dialogue with experienced scholars. The session provides individualized feedback on research ideas and early-stage projects, as well as guidance on academic and professional career paths. In this category, full papers or extended abstracts are accepted.
Priority will be given to Black, Brown, and Indigenous students, as well as to students who were not selected in previous editions of the Meeting.

Full paper submissions are open to all authors and are eligible for:
Oral presentation;
Poster presentation;
Mentoring session.
Extended Abstract
Extended abstracts are:
Exclusively eligible for the Mentoring Session;
Restricted to undergraduate and graduate students;
Limited to 600 characters;
Not eligible for oral or poster presentation.
Each paper or extended abstract must be submitted through the online submission form available on this page.
Submissions must be in PDF format.
Full papers may be of any length.
Submissions of dissertations or theses will not be considered.
Only one submission per author is allowed.
There are no restrictions on co-authorship across multiple submissions.
Each author may deliver only one presentation at the Meeting.
Presenters in oral sessions will also serve as discussants for another paper.
No submission fee is required. However, authors are responsible for covering the registration fee for the Meeting and the Mentoring Session upon notification of paper acceptance
Payments for non-Brazilian registrations will be accepted exclusively through the Credit Card.

Brazilian Review of Econometrics Special Issue “Family Dynamics and Gender Inequalities“
To contribute to the growing research agenda in Family and Gender Economics, the Brazilian Review of Econometrics, in collaboration with GeFam, announces a call for papers for a Special Issue entitled “Family Dynamics and Gender Inequalities.“ This Special Issue will feature theoretical and empirical contributions on topics such as labor markets, education, inequality, health, violence, household behavior, and institutional change, among others.
Authors who submit papers to the GeFam 2026 Conference, to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, will have the option to indicate whether they wish their papers to be considered for inclusion in this Special Issue. All submissions will be subject to the standard peer-review process.
