The 2nd edition of the Brazil France Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry will be a fully face-to-face event, and was thought of as a way of carrying out an integrative activity associating Brazilian and French researchers active in the Greater Area of Medicinal Chemistry, which covers research in several areas of knowledge, in particular that of Medical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Biological, Biotechnology, Computational Sciences, among others.
The Symposium also has as one of its objectives to expand the collaboration between Brazilian and French Universities, contributing to the Internationalization in particular of Postgraduate Programs, and allowing the establishment of new projects in partnership, which allow the exchange of experience and the future international mobility of students and researchers.
One of the great motivations for holding this event in 2023 came after the approval, at the end of 2022, of the CAPES/COFECUB project between Brazilian universities (UFPE, UFPB, UEPB, UFDPAr and UFAL) and the Université de Nantes/France aimed at development of new molecules with anti-leishmania potential, as well as approval by FAPESQ of PRONEX – Center of Excellence in Design of Molecules of Pharmacological Interest for Neglected Diseases, coordinated by UFPB, UEPB and UFPE.
For these reasons, the focus of this 2nd Symposium will be Recent Approaches in Drug Design & Discovery for Neglected and Infectious Diseases.
This is an event organized by the coordinators of the PRONEX and CAPES/COFECUB projects, with the support of the Post-Graduate Programs in: Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPGCF/UEPB) and Chemistry (PPGQ/UEPB) of the State University of Paraíba; Bioactive Natural and Synthetic Products (PPGPNSB/UFPB) and Chemistry (PPGQ/UFPB) from the Federal University of Paraíba.
Registration and submission of works (submission rules) are available on the official website of the event
