A unique spatial database of the records for lichens in Croatia was created. It encompasses all records from 1802 to 2018. The scientific names in the database were revised according to the current taxonomy. All records were supplemented with new information about: growth form and substrata, ecological indicator values, as well as poleotolerance and distribution in vegetation belts and biogeographical regions data. Analyses of these categories were conducted using MS Excel and Statistica 13, along with the creation of distributional maps using QGIS. The total number of lichen species for Croatia was expanded to 1275 species. Temporal and spatial dynamics of the lichenological studies in Croatia were presented, as well as the distribution of endangered and protected species.
