International Association for Lichenology 9th Symposium

Dear Lichenologists,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 9th International Association for Lichenology Symposium (IAL 9) which will be held ONLINE from August 1 to 6, 2021.

We understand that we are facing difficult times that are imposing us all to adapt. Therefore, we have updated our previously in-person event to a complete virtual meeting where we hope we can all join in exciting and thriving moments of great lichenological talks. We were expecting to welcome all of you in Brazil, but in the same way we’d like to personally welcome each of you virtually to the most important event for the Lichenological community.

The world of Lichenology is an exciting area in which to work, and we’ll continue to meet and bring inspired people together in forums like this, to ensure our conferences remain at the cutting edge. Throughout this conference, we encourage you all to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future of Lichenology.

We’d like to thank each of you for attending our conference and bringing your expertise to our meeting. You - leaders in lichenology - have the vision, the knowledge, the means and the experience to help us pave our way into the future.
