Guided Discovery: Deductive and Inductive Approaches to Teaching English
The presenter’s aim is to have teachers understand the student-centered nature of the guided discovery approach and how to use it as a tool to develop learners' autonomy as well as active participation in the learning process. We will be presenting two micro classes, one based on Deductive Teaching and the other based on Inductive Teaching. Then we will discuss with the audience the main differences between the approaches and focus on the advantages and effectiveness of using Guided Discovery to introduce new material in class.
