Our laboratory is interested in the Na,K-ATPase enzyme as a receptor for cardiotonic steroids. We develop research to assess the anticancer and neuroprotection effect of natural and synthetic cardiotonic steroids in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, our research extends to the importance of the plasma membrane to the integrity of the Na,K-ATPase function. Another research area we are involved is the importance of the Na,K-ATPase for the integrity and functionality of hemocomponents.
