Short bio: Marcelo Vinhal Nepomuceno is an Associate Professor in Marketing at HEC Montréal. He is the holder of the Professorship in Computer-mediated consumption and Big Data. He has a Master degree in Psychology from the University of Brasilia, Brazil. In 2012, he obtained his Ph.D. (valedictorian) in Business Administration from the Concordia University (Montreal, QC). He has also been an Assistant Professor of Marketing at ESCP Europe (Paris Campus). He has published papers on the Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Psychology & Marketing, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Personality and Individual Differences, among other journals. Marcelo research interests lies on the intersection of marketing and psychology. More specifically, he is particularly interested on anti-consumption, materialism, social media and the influence of hormones on consumer behavior. He has supervised over 25 students in the Master and PhD level over the years.
