Quantum Technologies: The Information Revolution That Will Change the Future

From October 14 to 17, 2025, SENAI CIMATEC, in Salvador (Bahia, Brazil), will once again host one of the world’s most dynamic platforms for global innovation: the 11th International Symposium on Innovation and Technology (SIINTEC). In this eleventh edition, the event invites researchers, professionals, students, and industry leaders to explore the emerging field of Quantum Technologies — one of the most transformative revolutions of our time.
Quantum computing and communication, ultra-precise sensors, and entirely new informational paradigms will be at the core of discussions designed to bridge the present with the future — guided by ethics, collaboration, and sustainability.

Place: CIMATEC 2 – 2nd FLOOR - ROOM 02

The course will cover topics such as the Product Development Process, Project Complexity, and Project Planning Process, Methods, and Tools: PMBOK, Agile, and Canvas Project Model.

10h00 - Camila de Sousa Pereira-Guizzo, Cíntia de Santana Silva e Adriano dos Santos Martins SHORT COURSE 1: ETHICS IN RESEARCH INVOLVING HUMAN SUBJECTS: FUNDAMENTALS, PROCEDURES, AND PROJECT SUBMISSION ON THE BRAZIL PLATFORM. Short course
Place: CIMATEC 2 – 2ND FLOOR - ROOM 10

The mini-course aims to train participants on the ethical principles governing research involving human subjects, the functioning of Research Ethics Committees (CEP), and the ethical, technical, and regulatory procedures for submitting projects to the Brazil Platform. The mini-course will address the regulatory frameworks for research ethics in Brazil, with emphasis on Resolutions CNS 466/2012, CNS 510/2016, and complementary resolutions, promoting critical reflections on the rights of research participants, the role of researchers, and the responsibility of institutions. Participants will be guided on how to develop an ethical research project that complies with CEP standards, from drafting the TCLE (Free and Informed Consent Form) for the project to submitting it to the Brazil Platform. The mini-course will be theoretical and practical and will include simulations and exercises on filling out the Brazil Platform. At the end, participants are expected to be able to structure and submit their projects ethically and in accordance with the required criteria, contributing to the promotion of scientific integrity and the protection of research participants.

Mini-course schedule

We can use superposition and entanglement to explore new computing paradigms, in which quantum computers can, in principle, solve certain problems faster than any classical supercomputer. While we don't yet have machines fully capable of outperforming classical computers in real-world applications, it's already possible to prepare for this future. In this mini-course, we'll introduce the main concepts of quantum computing applied in the Ket quantum programming language. In the first part, we'll review the core concepts of digital quantum computing. In the second part, we'll cover optimization algorithms, which are among the applications of quantum computing. Our goal is for all participants to understand, interact with, and experience these concepts in practice using the Ket quantum programming language.

09h00 - Pedro Mario Cruz e Silva SHORT COURSE 6: Using the Ogbon Supercomputer for HPC and AI projects Short course
Place: To be defined

This mini-course offers a practical and strategic introduction to using the Ogbon supercomputer, aimed at researchers, students, and professionals who want to accelerate their projects in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Throughout the sessions, participants will learn how to efficiently exploit Ogbon's computing power, from remote access to the execution of complex workloads.

Topics covered:

• Remote access to Ogbon: how to connect securely and efficiently to the HPC environment.

• Containers with Singularity: creation and use of isolated environments for portability and reproducibility of experiments.

• Job execution: submitting and monitoring batch and interactive tasks.

• Using Jupyter Notebook: integration with the HPC environment for development and visualization of results.

• Development environment for HPC and AI:

o Main scientific and machine learning libraries.

o Compilers and optimization tools.

o AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and others adapted for HPC.

Objective:

To enable participants to use Ogbon as a robust platform for research and development in AI and HPC, promoting autonomy, efficiency, and good computational practices.
