This workshop represents a significant collaboration between the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Oxford Brookes University (OBU), supported by funding from the British Council. It brings together experts and stakeholders to discuss parenthood and care policies in academia in Brazil and the UK, highlighting challenges and progress in both contexts.

The event will provide an opportunity to present preliminary findings from a joint project investigating how institutional policies shape the experiences of academics balancing caregiving responsibilities and career demands.

• 1:30 PM – 1:45 PM: Welcome and Introduction
  Introduction to the workshop objectives and agenda, with opening remarks from the project coordinators.

• 1:45 PM – 2:30 PM: Overview of Project Findings
  Charoula Tzanakou (Oxford Brookes University – UK) will present the key insights and outcomes from the project.

• 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Preliminary Data on Brazil
  Fernanda Staniscuaski will share early findings from the Brazilian survey on parenthood in academia.

• 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Q&A Session with the Audience
