Caudals should be over 1/3 body length.
Everything else, judge per current Show Plakat standards.
(the fish commonly known as “Big Tail” would be shown here)

  1. White Fin Trim (includes “Salamander”)
Unpaired fins should have a continuous white trim, not to exceed 1/3 of fin.
     – this differs from Butterfly, which is ideal 1/2 of two color (or 1/3 each of three colors)
Body and inner fins should be same color
     – this is allowed be non-standard IBC color, such as iridescent red
(the fish commonly known as “Salamander” would be shown here)

  2. Fire Marble (includes “Koi”)
Pattern must have at least 3 colors, at least one of which must be orange/red/yellow.

– this differs from Marble where only two colors are required and there is no “fire” color required. This variation recognizes that Fire could be included in regular marble, however wishes to distinguish it as a separate specific variation for recognition.

  1. Spotted Marble (includes “Dot / Dalmatian”)
Pattern should be in small dots or spots across the body and fins.

(the fish commonly known as “Koi” would be shown here)

All other Variations

See above for examples of variations.  For other variations, the entrant *must* describe the variation – short descriptions preferred.

The IBC Judge will judge based on interpretation of the description.  Variations not described, or described poorly (i.e. simply as “Salamander” or “Panda”) will be disqualified as the judge will have nothing to judge by.

Please do not use general trade names such as “Salamander” or “Big Tail” – that does not tell the judge how the variation is to be judged.
