XI INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF JAPANESE STUDIES & XXIV NATIONAL MEETING OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS OF JAPANESE LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE
We would like to express our desire to have you as our honored guests in the 11th International Congress of Japanese Studies and The 24th National Meeting of University Professors of Japanese Language, Literature and Culture, which will be held at the Federal University of Amazonas, on September 21st, 22nd e 23rd, 2016. The event is organized every two years and isheld, in rotation, by all Brazilian public universities which have a graduate course in Letters, Japanese Language and Literature.
Our institution, Federal University of Amazonas opened the Japanese course in 2011, thus being the first time this event is held by our institution, and also for the first time in the Northern part of Brasil. , The theme of the event is “Contextures: The Confluence of Cultures at the Confluence of River Amazon”. It is a call to discuss about interculturality, interaction between people, languages and cultures, having as a starting point the Amazonian context, with its rich background of immigration, including the Japanese immigrants and the important part they play in the history and the development of the region. Conferences, panels, research presentations, cultural activities etc. have been scheduled.
