Satellite events

This year, SIINTEC will have the honor of hosting a series of events that will enrich our program throughout the duration of Symposium 2024. All registered authors and listeners will have the opportunity to participate in and deepen their knowledge of each of the following satellite events:

 

  • 2024 LATIN AMERICAN CUBESAT WORKSHOP (LACW);
  • 6TH SAE BRAZIL SYMPOSIUM ON SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY (BAHIA SECTION);

2024 LATIN AMERICAN CUBESAT WORKSHOP (LACW):

LACW is the main forum in Latin America for discussing scientific and technological advances in the Cubesats field. The event takes place every two years, and in 2024 it will be hosted by SENAI CIMATEC in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. During the workshop, discussions will be held and scientific works will be presented in different areas of knowledge, with emphasis on systems engineering, attitude control systems, telecommunications, system reliability, embedded systems, and satellite constellations. The organization of the event is carried out by a technical and scientific team of researchers from different institutions, with the support of their institutions.

The Latin American CubeSat Workshop is a great opportunity to present the New Space and its opportunities for the industry, bringing developers and researchers closer to the end users of the Cubesat technology.

6TH SAE BRAZIL SYMPOSIUM ON SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY (BAHIA SECTION);

SAE BRASIL always brings relevant topics up for discussion in the face of current issues such as decarbonization:

Decarbonization, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions to prevent an increase in the greenhouse effect and global warming, is a global environmental priority. Companies and governments are focused on replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources in various sectors, including industry, infrastructure, services and agriculture. The mobility industry plays a crucial role in this process, promoting the electrification of vehicles, improvements in urban infrastructure and the integration of different modes of transportation to reduce travel times and emissions of polluting gases. These actions not only benefit the environment, but also contribute to the well-being of the population and make cities cleaner and quieter.

WORKSHOP ISI/EMBRAPII

The ISI (Senai Innovation Institutes) is an initiative of SENAI (National Industrial Learning Service) in Brazil. These institutes were created with the aim of promoting innovation and technological development in different industrial areas, acting as applied research and technology development centers.

The main focus of the ISIs is to support industrial companies by providing specialized services, applied research, product and process development, technical training, among others. They work in strategic areas for Brazilian industry, such as automation, energy, information and communication technologies, advanced materials, among others.

These institutes play an important role in promoting the competitiveness of Brazilian industry, providing technical and technological support for companies, helping them to innovate and develop solutions that contribute to the growth and modernization of the industrial sector in the country.

3RD BRAZILIAN SYMPOSIUM ON NETWORK THEORY AND SCIENCE

In 2024, the 3rd Brazilian Symposium on Network Theory and Science - SimBraRedes - will take place from October 21 to 23, 2024, at the Events Center of the SENAI CIMATEC University Center (Salvador - Bahia), located on Avenida Orlando Gomes, Piatã.

SimBraRedes is an event organized by the Fuxicos e Boatos Research Group, made up of researchers from the following Higher Education Institutions based in the state of Bahia (SENAI CIMATEC, UNEB, UEFS, IFBA and UFBA) this year with the support of CAPES (Foundation for the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) and SENAI CIMATEC. The first edition of SimBraRedes took place successfully on November 12 and 13, 2018 at the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS). The second edition took place on November 26, 2020 virtually due to the COVID pandemic.

The general objective of SimBraRedes is to promote discussions on issues that emerge from Network Theory and Science and their applications in society, through an interdisciplinary proposal. Specifically, the aim is to learn about and study the structure of social and/or complex networks, observe their behavior in order to contribute to the diagnosis and resolution of problems, and propose practical solutions, such as the use of explanatory and predictive models.

The event came about at a time when there was a growing number of researchers interested in Network Theory and Science. The training of human resources is considered an important action for establishing competencies in this science in the country.
