X SLIMP 2024

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am happy to welcome you to the 2024 Latin American Society for Maternal-Fetal Interaction and Placenta (SLIMP) meeting at the Ritz Lagoa da Anta Hotel in Maceió (Alagoas, Brazil). This event is significant as it is the first SLIMP held in person since the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as we celebrate the 10th SLIMP meeting since its creation. Thus, many celebrations and an excellent opportunity to catch up with friends and share our most recent scientific achievements again.

The theme Placenta: Everlasting in our lives will cover a substantial part of the program. The SLIMP meeting will assemble top-class researchers at the frontier of pregnancy knowledge, addressing the most recent advances in basic science and translational and clinical development, and highlighting the imprints left from the placenta that reverberate throughout our whole lives.

The SLIMP, the Placenta Associations of the Americas (PAA), and the International Federation of Placenta Associations (IFPA), together with the Sociedade Alagoana de Nutrição (ALNUT) have collaborated to bring you a high-quality meeting in all aspects: scientific, social and cultural. The program, carefully prepared by the scientific committee, will bring together researchers from several distinct biological and medical fields. It will include plenary sessions, workshops, early career activities, and poster discussion sessions addressing the latest discoveries and stimulating the maximum formal and informal interaction possible among all participants. I look forward to welcoming you for an exciting and fruitful experience in Maceió, Brazil.
