Abstract format and submission
- Before starting abstract submission, read the Instructions and Guidelines!
- Prepare your abstract in a Microsoft Word document to be copied and pasted during abstract submission.
- Abstract body (excluding Title, Authors, and Affiliation) should NOT exceed 300 words. Indicate the institution of each author.
- Capitalize only the initial letter in the Abstract Title.
- Use standard abbreviations for units of measure. Other abbreviations should be spelled out in full at first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- The abstracts should be structured in the following sections: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Financial Support and approval by the Human or Animal Research Ethical Committee should be included when applied.
- References: Avoid. But if necessary, quote the first author, year, and DOI.
- DO NOT include tables or figures.
- Important: When applicable, approval by the Human or Animal Research Ethical Committee and the financial support MUST be indicated. The absence of both pieces of information will not allow the abstract to be accepted. In case of any doubt, contact the X SLIMP secretariat.
- Literature Reviews or projects will not be accepted.
- Abstracts should be submitted electronically from May 1st, 2023 to January 31st, 2024 (11:59 PM BRT) to be published in the Placenta journal. EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 15th!! After this date, abstracts can still be sent, but they will not be published in Placenta or participate in the Travel Award.
- All presenting authors should be registered by the early bird registration deadline. Abstracts will only be published in Placenta if at least one author is registered.
- Only Abstracts in English will be accepted.
- All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
- By default, all approved abstracts will be considered for a poster presentation.
- If you are an Undergraduate or Graduate Student (Master's or Doctoral Degree): Indicate during online abstract submission your preference to be considered for an Oral Communication. Both Poster and Oral Communications must be in English.
- The Scientific Committee reserves the right to select a few abstracts for Oral Communications.
- Abstracts presented as Oral Communications will also have to be presented as posters. Only the first authors are allowed to deliver Oral Communication.

- Attention: After abstract submission, no alteration of the title and author’s names will be allowed.
- Attention: Abstracts should not be submitted if the content has been accepted for publication AND will be available (online or in paper) before the SLIMP meeting in May 2024.
